Recently got another 300. It's a 93 NA coupe with around 180k. Its got a clean running and well taken care of motor in it. It ran great when i bought it but of course didn't last very long. It started making some tapping and knocking noises so i put fully synthetic in it with a k&n oil filter thinking it was an oiling problem. For about 10 miles after the oil change, this thing ran like it just came off the line but then the noises came back. The self-diagnostic showed a bad knock sensor so i bypassed it and the code went away but it didn't change how it ran or anything. I'm having trouble tracking down the problem because it comes and goes. Half the time it runs beautiful and the other half it taps, clicks and knocks. When it starts making those noises it runs like hell but it smooths out if i get into the gas. Thinking it may have something to do with the timing or CAS but not sure. If anyone can help i would appreciate it.
